Rasha Nasr (born 12 May 1992) is a German politician of theSocial Democratic Party.[1] She representsDresden in theBundestag.[2]
Nasr was born inDresden toSyrian parents. She studied political science at theTU Dresden.
In the2021 German federal election Nasr stood in theconstituency ofDresden I but came in fourth place in candidate votes. She was elected on the state list, becoming the first SaxonMP with an immigrant background.[3] In the negotiations to form a so-calledtraffic light coalition of the SPD, theGreen Party and theFree Democrats (FDP) following the elections, she was part of her party's delegation in the working group onsocial policy, co-chaired byDagmar Schmidt,Sven Lehmann, andJohannes Vogel.[4]
In parliament, Nasr has since been serving on the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs.[5] In this capacity, she is her parliamentary group'srapporteur on refugees and migrants.[6] Within her parliamentary group, she is part of working-groups on social affairs and migration.[7]
Within her parliamentary group, Nasr belongs to theParliamentary Left, a left-wing movement.[8]
