Ranjitha is an Indian former actress who appeared inTamil,Malayalam,Telugu andKannada films during her career.[1] Since 2023, she is known to be serving as thePrime Minister of Kailaasa, a self-proclaimedmicronation promoted byNithyananda.[2][3][4]
In 2010, Nithyananda said he was in a relationship with Ranjitha, and officially made the announcement of both of them living together as partners official.[5]
In 2010,Sun TV telecasted a video recording that claimed to show Ranjitha and Nithyananda in a bedroom. The story became viral among news media inTamil Nadu.[6] They both claimed the video to be fabricated and accused Sun TV of extortion.[7] A Forensic Sciences Laboratory inBengaluru confirmed that the video appeared to be that of Nithyananda and Ranjitha.[8] Ranjitha filed a complaint with High Court of Karnataka against news channels.[9][10] Various news channels were ordered to apologize to Ranjitha for violating the complainant's privacy and dignity.[11][12][13][14][15][16]
In 2013, she took upsannyasa under Nithyananda.[17]
In 2023, a website associated withNithyananda displayed the name 'Nithyanandamayi Swami' alongside an image of Ranjitha, bearing the title of the Prime Minister of Kailaasa, a self-proclaimedHindu state.[18][19]
