Randall Reed (bornc. 1967) is aUnited States Air Forcegeneral who has served as the commander ofUnited States Transportation Command since 4 October 2024.[1] He most recently served as the deputy commander ofAir Mobility Command from 2022 to 2024.[2][3] He previously commanded theThird Air Force atRamstein Air Base from 2020 to 2022.[4][5]

Air Force career

Randall Reed graduated from theUnited States Air Force Academy with a degree inhuman factors engineering in 1989, and was commissioned into theUnited States Air Force. He attended pilot training atLaughlin AFB, and became aC-141 Starlifter pilot. In 1998, he transitioned to flying theKC-135 Stratotanker. He commanded the55th Air Refueling Squadron, the379th Expeditionary Operations Group, and the521st Air Mobility Operations Wing. In 2020, he assumed command of theThird Air Force atRamstein Air Base from Major GeneralJohn Wood[4][6]

In April 2022, Reed was nominated for promotion to lieutenant general and appointment as deputy commander ofAir Mobility Command.[7][8]

In July 2024, Reed was nominated for promotion to general and assignment ascommander of the United States Transportation Command.[9][10]
