Ramesh Menon (born 14 December 1963) is a Malaysian formercricketer.[1] A right-handedbatsman and right-armoff spinbowler,[2] he played for theMalaysia national cricket team between 1993 and 2001.[3]
Born inMalacca in 1963,[2] Ramesh Menon made his debut for Malaysia in the 1993Saudara Cup match againstSingapore,[3] next playing for them in the1994 ICC Trophy inNairobi.[4] He also played in the Saudara Cup that year, and the next, during which he played in theStan Nagaiah Trophy series for the first time.[3]
He played two matches in the Stan Nagaiah Trophy in 1996, and all three in 1997,[3] before playing in the1997 ICC Trophy inKuala Lumpur.[4] In 1998, after playing in the Stan Nagaiah Trophy series,[3] he made hisList A debut againstPakistan International Airlines in the Wills Cup, a Pakistani domestic one-day competition.[5] After playing in his final Saudara Cup match in August,[3] he represented Malaysia in thecricket tournament at the1998 Commonwealth Games, hosted inKuala Lumpur.[5]
Following the Commonwealth Games, he played in theACC Trophy inNepal in October. He did not play for Malaysia at all in 1999, returning to play twice in 2000 and three times in 2001, all in the Stan Nagaiah Trophy series.[3]
