Rakovnica (Hungarian:Rekenyeújfalu) is avillage andmunicipality in theRožňava District in theKošice Region of middle-easternSlovakia.
Inhistorical records the village was first mentioned in 1327. Before the establishment of independentCzechoslovakia in 1918, Rakovnica was part ofGömör and Kishont County within theKingdom of Hungary. From 1938 to 1945, it was again part ofHungary as a result of theFirst Vienna Award.
Thevillage lies at analtitude of 358 metres and covers anarea of 7.109 km².It has apopulation of about 585 people.
The village has a publiclibrary and afootball pitch.
