Rahim Ali (Bengali:রহিম আলি; born 21 April 2000) is an Indian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward forIndian Super League clubOdisha FC and theIndia national team.

Born inBarrackpore,West Bengal, Ali was part of theAIFF Elite Academy batch that was preparing for the2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup to be hosted in India.[1] After the tournament, Ali was selected to play for theIndian Arrows, anAll India Football Federation-owned team that would consist ofIndia under-20 players to give them playing time.[2] He made his professional debut for the side in the Arrows' first match of the season againstChennai City. He came on as a 73rd-minute substitute forRahul Praveen as Indian Arrows won 3–0.[3]

Chennaiyin

On 31 May 2019, Ali signed withChennaiyin and appeared in the2019–20 Indian Super League.[4][5][6] They lost toOdisha on 6 January 2020 and won a game againstHyderabad by 3–1.[7][8]

International career

Ali represented theIndia under-17 side which participated in the2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.[1]

Ali made his senior international debut forIndia againstNepal in a friendly on 2 September 2021 in their 1–1 draw.[9] He later participated in2021 SAFF Championship inMaldives,[10] in which they emerged champions. In March 2022, Ali was included in the national squad by coachIgor Štimac ahead of India's two friendly matches againstBahrain andBelarus as preparations of2023 AFC Asian Cup final round qualification.[11]
