Raffaele Nigro (9 November 1947) is an Italian writer and journalist.
Raffaele Nigro was born inMelfi,Basilicata.[1] He lives and works inBari,[2] where he was a programmer-director from 1979 to 1989. Member of the Order of Journalists of Apulia, he was appointed director and subsequently editor-in-chief for the regional headquarters ofRAI.
As a journalist, Nigro collaborates with the newspapersAvvenire,Il Mattino, andCorriere della Sera. For his 1987 workI fuochi del Basento, he was awarded with thePremio Campiello and thePremio Napoli.[3][4][5] In 1997, he publishedAdriatico, a finalist for thePremio Strega.[6]
