Radley W. Haddad (born May 11, 1990) is an American professionalbaseballcoach who most recently served as the game-planning and strategy for thePittsburgh Pirates ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).
Haddad attendedBrebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School inIndianapolis. He was recruited toWestern Carolina University, where he playedcollege baseball for theWestern Carolina Catamounts. After two years as a backupcatcher with the Catamounts, Haddad transferred toButler University to get more playing time. He was a starting catcher for theButler Bulldogs for two years.[1]
Haddad was not selected in the2013 Major League Baseball draft, and signed with theNew York Yankees as an undraftedfree agent. He played inMinor League Baseball for the Yankees for four years. In 2016, he was a player-coach for theStaten Island Yankees.[1] In 92 career games, hebatted .203 with onehome run.[2][3]
TheNew York Yankees hired Haddad as abullpen catcher in 2017, ending his playing career.[1][2]
On December 10, 2021, thePittsburgh Pirates hired Haddad as a game planning and strategy coach.[4] On May 9, 2025, the Pirates parted ways with Haddad following the firing ofDerek Shelton.[5]
