RU-28306 is a syntheticindole alkaloid derivative which acts as aserotonin receptor agonist, with selectivity for5-HT1 and5-HT2 subtypes. It can be regarded as a conformationally restrictedtricyclicderivative ofDMT or a structurally simplified derivative ofLSD. Thebinding affinity ofracemic RU-28306 is closer to that of DMT than LSD, though with relatively higher affinity for 5-HT2 subtypes and lower for 5-HT1.[1][2] It has been sold as adesigner drug and was first reported to theEMCDDA by a forensic laboratory in Slovenia in 2017.[3] It was subsequentlypatented byDelix Therapeutics in 2021.[4]
