Rho associated coiled-coil containing protein kinase 2 is aprotein that inhumans is encoded by the ROCK2gene.^[5]Fasudil is an inhibitor of ROCK protein.

The protein encoded by this gene is aserine/threoninekinase that regulatescytokinesis,smooth muscle contraction, the formation ofactinstress fibers andfocal adhesions, and the activation of thec-fosserum response element. This protein, which is anisozyme ofROCK1 is a target for thesmall GTPaseRho.
