The Qayi Party is the first political party and organization in the history of theQashqai people. This party emerged and was born from the Qashqai identity movement in the last two decades.[4][5]
The qayi Party has been active in political, social, and civic spheres, and is also a member of the Coordination Center forIranian Turks and theDemocratic Alliance of Nations.[6][7][8]
The party is part of the expatriate opposition that considers the Islamic Republic to be inefficient, corrupt, and unchangeable, and is working to overthrow it and establish democracy and federalism in a free Iran.[8][9][10]
The Qayi Party was founded on June 20, 2017, byRuhollah Moradi Qashqai (human rights activist and representative of the Qashqai people to the United Nations) and a group of Qashqai activists inSwitzerland.[11]
The party's emblem is a combination of theQashqai flag (an ancientTurkic emblem) and the symbol of the Qayi tribe (IYI).
The party unveiled the official party and Qashqai flag on October 31, 2022, in order to unite and promote the Qashqai movement for justice.[12]
This flag is also a standardized Qashqai flag (traditional flag), with the addition of the crescentmoon and star symbol inside the red circle in the middle of the flag, which represents the Qashqai'sTurkish identity.[13]
In addition, 24Qayi tribal emblems (24Oghuz tribes), which are the origin of the Qashqai tribe, have been added to the white border of the flag.
The Qashqai national flag was first raised by Qayi party members at a gathering inBrussels on March 25, 2023.
