Qasem Abdulhamed Burhan (Arabic:قَاسِم عَبْد الْحَمِيد بُرْهَان; born on December 15, 1985) is a formerfootballer. Born in Senegal, he represented theQatar national team.
Burhan is born and raised in Senegal, but early in his career moved to Qatar, and became a naturalized citizen. He is a member of theQatar national football team. He was given his international debut againstBahrain in the2004 by caretaker coach Saeed Al-Misnad.[1] He was Qatar's first choice goalkeeper in the2011 Asian Cup.
He wonGoalkeeper of the tournament in the22nd Arabian Gulf Cup held in Saudi Arabia, having succeeded in winning the title over Oman'sAli Al-Habsi who consecutively won the last fourGoalkeeper of the tournament titles in the tournament.[2][3] He was selected in Qatar's2015 Asian Cup squad despite having a torrid record withAl Gharafa in the league during the 2014–15 season.[4]
