Qari Ghulam Rasool (1935 – 9 March 2014) was a PakistaniQari and anIslamic scholar.[2]
He was born in 1935 in Salamatpura,Lahore,British India.[3] He received education from famous seminary Darul Uloom Hizbul Ahnaf. He learned Qirat from Qari Abdul Malik and later on became famous across the globe due to his unique recitation style.[2][3]
He had recited the Quran atPTV andRadio Pakistan for more than 50 years.[1][2][3] He also served as the 'designated qari' for theProvincial Assembly of the Punjab for some years.[3]
He also taught atJamia Nizamia and later on established his own five madaris. He was a close friend ofShah Ahmad Noorani andAbdul Sattar Khan Niazi ofJamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan party.
He died on 9 March 2014 inLahore.[1][3]
