ThePuna ibis (Plegadis ridgwayi) is a species ofbird in the familyThreskiornithidae. It is found inArgentina,Bolivia,Chile, andPeru. Its naturalhabitats areswamps, marshes and lakes, and most of its range is in theAndean highlands, including thepuna, but locally it occurs down to sea level. It has beendomesticated by theUru people for meat and eggs.[citation needed]
