ThePsychological Bulletin is a monthlypeer-reviewedacademic journal that publishes evaluative and integrative researchreviews and interpretations of issues inpsychology, including both qualitative (narrative) and/or quantitative (meta-analytic) aspects.[1] Theeditor-in-chief isBlair T. Johnson.

History

The journal was established byJohns Hopkins psychologistJames Mark Baldwin in 1904,[2] immediately after he had bought outJames McKeen Cattell's share ofPsychological Review, which the two had established ten years earlier. Baldwin gave the editorship of both journals toJohn B. Watson, when scandal forced him to resign his position at Johns Hopkins in 1920. Ownership of theBulletin passed toHoward C. Warren, who eventually donated it to theAmerican Psychological Association, which continues to own it to the present day.

The journal is abstracted and indexed byMEDLINE/PubMed, theSocial Sciences Citation Index, and theScience Citation Index. According to theJournal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2020impact factor of 17.737.[3]
