Balireddy Prudhviraj (born 6 August 6 1964) is an Indian actor and politician known for his roles inTelugu films.[1][2] He has appeared in over 100 films, primarily in comedic roles, and is widely recognised for his iconic dialogue "30 years industry" from the 2002 filmKhadgam.[3]
In addition to his career in cinema, Prudhviraj has been actively involved in politics. In February 2019, he was appointed as the state secretary of theYSR Congress Party inAndhra Pradesh.[4] He also served as the chairman of theSVBC TV channel, which is operated byTirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, until January 2020. Prudhviraj is currently a member of theJanasena Party.
Prudhviraj was born inTadepalligudem, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. He was introduced by noted actorM. Prabhakar Reddy andE. V. V. Satyanarayana in their first filmAa Okkati Adakku (1992). During this film he spent forty days withRao Gopala Rao, where he learnt about the film industry. He played many roles in about 100 films. He was well recognized for his dialogue "30 Years Industry ikkada" inKrishna Vamsi's filmKhadgam (2002) and this film changed his fate.[5] In the year 2022, he joinedJana Sena Party.[6]
Prudhvi Raj had joined the YSRCP in 2018, and after it came into power he has been nominated as chairman ofSri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel in 2019.[7] In January 2020, his audiotape recording with a female employee ofSVBC TV channel went viral on YouTube and SVBC employees protested urging him to resign from his post as the chairman of the channel. Following that incident Prudhviraj resigned as chairman ofSri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel.[8][9]
Prithviraj joined theJanasena party at the Janasena office inMangalagiri,Andhra Pradesh, on 24 January 2024 in the presence of party presidentPawan Kalyan.[10]
