Panama is divided into tenprovinces (Spanish:provincias) and four provincial-level indigenous regions (Spanish:comarcas indígenas, often shortened tocomarcas). The most recently established province isPanamá Oeste Province on 1 January 2014, and the most recently established indigenous region isNaso Tjër Di Comarca on 4 December 2020.
There are also two indigenous regions within provinces that are considered equivalent to acorregimiento (municipality).
