Prostaglandin E synthase (EC5.3.99.3, orPGE synthase) is anenzyme involved ineicosanoid andglutathione metabolism, a member ofMAPEG family. It generatesprostaglandin E (PGE) fromprostaglandin H2.[2][3]

The synthase generating PGE2 is a membrane-associated protein.

Biosynthesis of eicosanoids.
