Pronothrotherium is anextinctgenus ofground sloths fromArgentina andUruguay.[1][2] Fossils ofPronothrotherium have been found in theItuzaingó Formation ofArgentina.[3] The body weight of the animal has been estimated at 937 kg (2,066 lb).[4]
