Progress Party orParty for Progress (Persian:حزب ترقی,romanizedḤezb-e taraqqi) was afascist[4]political party inIran led byAbdolhossein Teymourtash, described as the "spurious"party of government and functioning as a "vehicle for executing royal intentions" ofReza Shah.[2]

Modeled after Mussolini'sNational Fascist Party and Atatürk'sRepublican People's Party,[3] it subscribed ideas similar to the short-livedNew Iran Party.[2]

With the fall ofAbdolhossein Teymourtash in late 1932, the party soon melted away[2] and was outlawed on the grounds that it harborsrepublican sentiments.[3]
