Progress MS-20 (Russian:Прогресс МC-20), Russian production No.450, identified byNASA asProgress 81P, is aProgress spaceflight launched byRoscosmos to resupply theInternational Space Station (ISS). It is the 173rd flight of a Progress spacecraft.
TheProgress-MS is an uncrewed freighter based on theProgress-M featuring improved avionics. This improved variant first launched on 21 December 2015. It has the following improvements:[1][2][3][4]
On 3 February 2021, the State Commission for Testing of the Piloted Space Systems, chaired by Roskosmos head Dmitry Rogozin, approved the latest ISS schedule for 2021 and the first quarter of 2022.
ASoyuz-2.1a launched Progress MS-20 to the International Space Station fromBaikonur Site 31 on 3 June 2022[5][6] on a fast-track trajectory.[7][8] Around 3 hours 20 minutes after the launch, Progress MS-20 automatically docked withZvezda and continue its mission for 196 days, supportingExpedition 67 andExpedition 68 missions aboard the ISS.
The MS-20 cargo capacity is 2,500 kg (5,500 lb) as follows:
A 3D printer will also be delivered to ISS by progress, along with 4 Russian experimental cubesats (ЮЗГУ No.11 & 12 / SWSU No11 & 12 plus Циолковский-Рязань 1 & 2/ Tsiolkovsky-Ryazan 1 & 2),[9] which were deployed from the ISS by Russian CosmonautOleg Artemyev during EVA 3 spacewalk.
