Thepresident of the Government ofNew Caledonia is a political position in theGovernment of New Caledonia formed in 1999,[1] after theNouméa Accord was signed in 1998.
New Caledonia has a collegial government with 11 members elected byCongress of New Caledonia with proportional representation on party list voting, according to the rule of the highest average.[2] Then, according to theNouméa Accord, the 11 members elect President andVice President among themselves.[3]
