ThePremier League Summer Series is a pre-seasonfriendlyassociation football tournament hosted in theUnited States. The eight-day competition was first announced in 2023, and is the second competition affiliated to thePremier League to be hosted outsideEngland after thePremier League Asia Trophy.[1]

History

The inaugural tournament was announced in April 2023 by Premier League chief executiveRichard Masters,[2] and took place between 22 and 30 July 2023 at the following stadiums:[3]

The participants of the first competition wereAston Villa,Brentford,Brighton & Hove Albion,Chelsea,Fulham andNewcastle United.[4] In the 2023 Premier League Summer Series Aston Villa finished runners up and Chelsea finished first.

In March 2025, after the cancellation of the 2024 competition,[5] it was announced that the Summer Series would return in July 2025, withBournemouth,Everton,Manchester United andWest Ham United as participants.[6][7]In the 2025 Premier League Summer Series West Ham United finished runners up and Manchester United finished first.[8]
