Predrag Azdejković (Serbian:Предраг Аздејковић; born 15 July 1978) is a Serbian LGBT human rights activist, journalist, writer, film and theater producer. Azdejković is the director ofGay Lesbian Info Center, and was the director ofMerlinka festival, until he was forced to resign after outrageous comments, offensive to the trans community, calling on social media for an elderly man who lost a testis due to police torture inNovi Sad to be sent to box againstImane Khelif, to which funders of the festival threatened to cancel funding,[3][4][5] and the national TV stationRadio Television of Serbia to an overseeing body of which he had been appointed against the will of journalists working there has demanded he be removed from it, but this request has been ignored.[6] He is also the editor in chief of Serbian only gay magazineOptimist, producer of several short films and documentaries and several award-winning theater plays that all are dedicated to LGBT population. He is a member ofJournalists' Association of Serbia.
Predrag Azdejković was born on 15 July 1978 inLeonberg,West Germany.
Until his sixth year, he lived in Germany and in 1984 he moved to Serbia, which was then part ofYugoslavia.[7] He is a founder ofGayEcho web portal, editor of Rainbow column in Yellow Cab monthly guide, founder and editor in chief of the only Serbian gay magazineOptimist,[8] and was for a time the director and selector ofInternational queer film festival Merlinka. He wrote for several Serbian media such as daily Sutra, Borba, web portal E-novine, weekly Vreme, monthly Status, Beton.[9] In 2006 he became VIP blogger atB92 blog.[10] In 2006 he was included in the anthologyOthers - From patriarchal construction to alternative politics.,[11] edited byBoban Stojanović. He published a satirical bookTime of hemorrhoids in 2011.[12] In 2017 he co-edited the bookI have something to say to you - Return from Brisbane and other stories[13]
