Precis actia, theair commodore, is abutterfly in the familyNymphalidae. It is found inAngola, the southern part of theDemocratic Republic of the Congo,Uganda,Rwanda,Burundi,Kenya,Tanzania,Malawi, northernZambia,Zimbabwe, and westernMozambique.[2] The habitat consists ofBrachystegia woodland and savanna.
Both sexes are attracted to flowers and males also engage inmud-puddling.
The larvae feed onPlatostoma species.
