Pramatha Nath Roy (7 October 1944 - 31 May 2019), popularly known asP. N. Roy, was an Indianpolitician and was the Minister of State for Development & Planning in theGovernment of West Bengal. He was anMLA, elected from theKaliaganj Assembly constituency in1996,2001,2011 and2016.[1][2][3]

He resigned from the ministry whenCongress withdrew its support to theMamata Banerjee government in September 2012.[4]

Personal life

Pramatha Nath Roy was a postgraduate in humanities.[5]

Death

P. N. Roy died on 31 May 2019 at the age of 74 inKolkata, triggering abypoll in the constituency, which was won byTapan Deb Singha ofAll India Trinamool Congress.
