REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier women's professionalhandball league for Norwegian handball clubs. It is administered by theNorwegian Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Norwegian champions. It was established in 1968, and it is currently contested by fourteen teams.Larvik HK is the championship's most successful team with nineteen titles, followed byIL Vestar with nine andVipers Kristiansand with seven.

Currently the winner of the championship play-offs is granted a spot in theEHF Champions League's group stage.

There was fourteen teams of the 2024/25 season, whereVipers Kristiansand was the defending champion. However, only thirteen teams remained when Vipers went bankrupt in January 2025.[1][2]
