People often partake in gardening for itstherapeutic,health,educational,cultural,philosophical,environmental, andreligious benefits.Gardening varies in scale from the 800 hectareVersailles gardens down tocontainer gardens grown inside. Horticulture (fromLatin:horti + culture) is the art and science of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs and ornamental plants. Horticulture is commonly associated with the more professional and technical aspects of plant cultivation on a smaller and more controlled scale thanagronomy. There are various divisions of horticulture because plants are grown for a variety of purposes. These divisions include, but are not limited to:propagation,arboriculture,landscaping,floriculture andturf maintenance. For each of these, there are various professions, aspects, tools used and associated challenges -- each requiring highly specialized skills and knowledge on the part of the horticulturist. Water reservoir and pavilion of the Menara

TheMenara Gardens (Arabic:حدائق المنارة) are a historic public garden andorchard inMarrakech,Morocco. They were established in the 12th century (circa 1157) by theAlmohad Caliphate rulerAbd al-Mu'min. Along with theAgdal Gardens and the historic walled city of Marrakesh, the gardens have been listed asUNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. The gardens are laid out around a central water basin andreservoir, next to which is a pleasurepavilion dating in its current form from the 19th century. The reservoir and its pavilion, often framed in pictures against the background of theHigh Atlas Mountains to the south, are considered one of the iconic views and symbols of Marrakesh. Syringa vulgaris (Lilac orCommon Lilac) is a species ofSyringa in the olive family,Oleaceae, native to theBalkans in southeasternEurope, where it grows on rocky hills. Lilacs are a very commonornamental plant found in gardens and parks, because of the attractive, sweet smell of its flowers. Most garden plants arecultivars, with flowers varying from white to dark lilac; some have double flowers with the stamens replaced by extra petals.
