Porohanon is aregionalBisayan language spoken in theCamotes Islands in theprovince ofCebu in the Philippines. Its closest relatives areHiligaynon,Capiznon andMasbateño; it is barely intelligible withCebuano though it shares 87% of its vocabulary with it[2] and even less intelligible withWaray. It also retains many older features that Cebuano has lost, such as the use of thegenitive marker ahead of the second member of a compounded form, the distinction between a definite and indefinite subject marker, and the distinction between a definite genitive marker and alocative one.[1]
