Porchester Terrace is a street in theBayswater area of London.[1][2] Located in theCity of Westminster, it runs betweenPorchester Gardens in the north and theBayswater Road to the south close toKensington Gardens. Adjacent streetsLeinster Gardens and Queensborough Terrace run directly parallel to it, as doesQueensway a little to the west. At the northern end is theHallfield Estate.

It is a residential street, built originally in the 1820s during theRegency era, although it was expanded during theVictorian era with many of the houses still in thestucco-fronted design common to the area. Newer houses are also scattered along the street. Notable historic residents include the painterJohn Linnell the photographerCamille Silvy, the writerJane Loudon and herbotanist husbandJohn Claudius Loudon. The novelistWilkie Collins also lived in the street.[3]
