Pontypridd Association Football Club was aWelsh football team based inPontypridd which existed between 1911 and 1926.[1]
The club was founded as a professional football club in 1911 to "promote first class association football in the Pontypridd District".[2] The club were based atTaff Vale Park[3] in the nearby communityTrefforest. Pontypridd AFC played in theSouthern League between 1911 and 1926.[4]
The club also played in theWelsh League and were champions in the 1923–24 season. It was a finalist in theWelsh Cup in 1912, 1913 and 1921.[5] The Dragons won theSouth Wales FA Senior Cup in 1925.[6]
The club’s kit currently consists of black and white striped shirts with black shorts, with purple shirts and shorts for the goalkeepers[7][8]
