Podlachians,[a] also known asPodlachian Masurians,[b] are anethnographic group ofPolish people that inhabit an area ofPodlachia inPoland, includingPodlaskie andLublin Voivodeships.[1]
They originated fromMazovia and in are descendants ofMasovians who between 13th and 15th century hadcolonised area around theBug river, mixing with the population ofRuthenians already present in the area.[1]
