Online popular mathematics magazine

Plus Magazine is an onlinepopular mathematics magazine run under theMillennium Mathematics Project at theUniversity of Cambridge.[1][2][3][4]

Plus contains:

  • feature articles on all aspects of mathematics;
  • reviews of popular maths books and events;
  • a news section;
  • mathematical puzzles andgames;
  • interviews with people in maths related careers;
  • PlusPodcast – Maths on the Move

History

Plus was initially named PASS Maths (Public Awareness and Schools Support for Maths) in 1997, when it was a project of the Interactive Courseware Research and Development Group, based jointly at the University of Cambridge andKeele University.Plus is now part of theMillennium Mathematics Project, a long term national initiative based inCambridge and active across theUK and internationally.

Authors of articles inPlus includeStephen Hawking[5] andMarcus du Sautoy.[6]

Plus won the 2001Webby forBest Science Site on the Web,[7] and has been described as "an excellent site put together by those with a real love for the subject".[8] In 2006 the Millennium Mathematics Project, of whichPlus is a part, won theQueen's Anniversary Prize for Higher Education.[9]
