ThePlessur Alps are amountain range in theAlps of easternSwitzerland. They are considered to be part of theWestern Rhaetian Alps. They are named after the riverPlessur, which originates from the center of the ranges. The Plessur Alps are separated from theGlarus Alps in the west by theRhine valley; from theRätikon range in the north by theLandquart river valley (Prättigau); from theAlbula Alps in the south-east by theLandwasser river valley; from theOberhalbstein Alps in the south by theAlbula river valley.
The Plessur Alps are drained by the riversRhine,Plessur,Landwasser andLandquart. The ski resortArosa lies in the middle of the range.
