Plainview High School is a public high school located in the city ofPlainview, Texas,USA and classified as a 5A school by theUIL. It is a part of thePlainview Independent School District located in northeastHale County. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by theTexas Education Agency.[2]

As of 2008[update] That year the four-year high school dropout rate of Plainview High was almost two times larger than the average in Texas. The head of the alternative high school Houston School, Tommy Chatham, stated in 2008 that there were multiple jobs in Plainview that did not require a high school diploma.[8]
