Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anniversary selection of Pittsburgh Steelers best players

ThePittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team was named as a part ofthe franchise's 75th season celebration in2007. The club's top 33 players were selected in commemoration of the franchise's founding in1933.[1] The team was chosen on the basis of fan voting.[2]

This All-Time team supplants theprevious All-Time team which was named in1982 as a part of the club's 50th season celebration.[3] The 50th season team included only 24 players, all of whom are included on this team except guardsGerry Mullins andSam Davis, safetyMike Wagner and kickersRoy Gerela andPat Brady.

The club announced theSteelers Legends team concurrently with this All-Time team. The Legends team compensates for the bias toward players who performed in the post-1970 era — it represents the best players in the franchise's pre-1970 history.[4]
