Pikker was anEstonian magazine of satire and humor published between 1943 and 2001, named for the Estonianlightning godPikker.
During 1943–1944Pikker existed as satire and humor supplement to the Soviet Estonian newspaperRahva Hääl and printed inMoscow andLeningrad.[1] In 1945 its editorial office was moved toTallinn,Estonian SSR.[2] In 1973 Pikker published two articles which criticised theplanned economy which were censored by the authorities soon after the publication.[3] In 1987, onApril Fools' Day the magazine issued a humor award,Meie Mats.
