Town of ancient Caria

Phoenix orPhoinix (Ancient Greek:Φοῖνιξ) was a town ofancient Caria, near themountain of the same name on the southern branch of theBozburun Peninsula.[1] It may be the same as the town calledPhoenice orPhoinike (Φοινίκη) byStephanus of Byzantium.[2][3]

It belonged to theRhodian Peraea.[4]

Its site is located near Fenaket inAsiatic Turkey.[1][5] Archaeology has uncovered numerous inscriptions.[3]
