Phenylene group

Inorganic chemistry, thephenylene group (−C6H4) is based on a di-substitutedbenzene ring (arylene). For example,poly(p-phenylene) is apolymer built up frompara-phenylene repeating units.[1] The phenylene group has threestructural isomers, based onwhich hydrogens are substituted:para-phenylene,meta-phenylene, andortho-phenylene.
