Phazemon (Ancient Greek:Φαζημών), also known asThermai Phazemoniton,[1] was a town in the west ofancient Pontus, south of theGazelonitis, and north ofAmasia; it contained hot mineral springs.[2]Pompey, after his victory overMithridates, planted a colony there, and changed its name intoNeapolis, from which the whole district was calledNeapolitis, having previously been calledPhazemonitis.[3][4]
Its site is located nearHavza,Samsun Province,Turkey.[1][5]
