Petton, also known asPetton Cross, is an English village in thecivil parish of Bampton, thedistrict of Mid Devon, and thecounty of Devon. It lies on theB3227 road that linksTaunton andTorrington.

The village includes anAnglican church, dedicated toSaint Petrock, and aMethodist church.[1]

TheDevon and Somerset Railway, from Taunton toBarnstaple, ran just to the north of the village but no station or halt was ever provided. The line closed in 1966, but traces can still be seen.[2]
