Peter Grummitt (born 19 August 1942) is anEnglishfootballer who played as agoalkeeper in theFootball League during the 1960s and 1970s, most notably withNottingham Forest.[2]
He made 352 senior appearances for Forest[3] before transferring toSheffield Wednesday in 1970.[4]
During his time with Wednesday he made 130 senior appearances, and missed just one game during the1970-71 season.[4] In April 1973 he played his last game for Wednesday[4] before joiningBrighton and Hove Albion, then managed byBrian Clough, on loan after Brighton had been beaten 8-2 byBristol Rovers in front of the TV cameras.[5] Despite losing 4–1 on his debut againstTranmere Rovers Grummitt made over 100 league appearances for the Seagulls before joiningWorthing F.C.[2]
He was capped on three occasions byEngland under-23 between 1961 and 1963.[6]
