Peter Agostini

American sculptor (1913–1993)

Peter Agostini (February 13, 1913Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan – March 27, 1993) was an American sculptor.[1]

Life

Agostini studied at theLeonardo da Vinci Art School in 1935 and 1936. He taught sculpture and painting at theNew York Studio School,Columbia University, theUniversity of North Carolina at Greensboro, and theParsons School of Design.

His works are in theMetropolitan Museum of Art, theWhitney Museum of American Art, theMuseum of Modern Art, theSolomon R. Guggenheim Museum, theHirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and theWalker Art Center. His work has been exhibited in a number of galleries, including theAnita Shapolsky Gallery, Olaf Clasen Gallery, and Salander O’Reilly Galleries, in New York City.[2][3]

WatercoloristEllen Murray studied with Agostini.[4]

Peter Agostini is the father of actress Diana Agostini (The Godfather: Part III (1990), The Irishman (2019)).
