APersian drill is adrill which is turned by pushing anut back and forth along aspirally grooveddrill holder.[1] It was formerly used for delicate operations such asjewellery making anddentistry.[2] Aratcheting screwdriver with a "spiral ratchet" mechanism may be used as a Persian drill.
