It was simultaneously shot inHindi asLadki and inTelugu asSangham.[1]Vyjayanthimala appeared as the female lead in all three versions.[2]Gemini Ganesan was cast after Meiyappan was impressed with his performance inThai Ullam (1952).[3]
The music was composed byR. Sudarsanam. The songKalyaanam Kalyaanam....... Ullaasamaagave Ulagaththil Vaazhave sung byJ. P. Chandrababu for S. Balachander becomes an instant hit and was still played in many television.[4] It was remixed bySundar C. Babu forThoonga Nagaram (2011).[5]
