Penalty (B3: CAMB4) is a Braziliansporting goods manufacturer that was established in 1970 inSão Paulo. The brand is operated by its owner and creator, Grupo Cambucci.[1]
The company manufactures mainlysoccer equipment such askit uniforms andballs.
In 1945, the Assibe Brothers founded "Malharia Cambuci SA", a company of clothing for men and women in São Paulo. In 1970, the company created the brand "Penalty," launching products for thefootball market.
In the 1980s, Penalty became the largest Brazilian manufacturer of soccer balls. During this period, Penalty acquired the manufacturing rights forAsics shoes andWilson tennis racquets. During the 1990s, the Brazilian football teams ofSão Paulo andGrêmio wore uniforms by Penalty.
In 1998, the brand expanded its business toArgentina, opening a filial of the company there and signing deals with some local teams.[1]

In 2010, Penalty started sponsoring the Spanish Futsal League, and, one year later, the company signed an exclusive agreement withVíctor Valdés,[2] the football goalkeeper ofBarcelona FC andSpanish national team, for whom Penalty designed an exclusive boot.[3]
