Peever is a town inRoberts County, South Dakota, United States. The population was 180 at the2020 census.[5]
Peever was laid out in 1898, and named in honor of Thomas Henry Peever, a settler.[6][7][8]

There were 63 housing units at an average density of 525.0 per square mile (202.7/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 28.6%White, 65.5%Native American, 0.6% fromother races, and 5.4% from two or more races.Hispanic orLatino of any race were 2.4% of the population.
There were 56 households, of which 55.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.1% weremarried couples living together, 33.9% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 16.1% were non-families. 12.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.00 and the average family size was 3.15.
The median age in the town was 28.5 years. 36.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 10.7% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 17.4% were from 25 to 44; 29.8% were from 45 to 64; and 6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 48.2% male and 51.8% female.

The racial makeup of the town was 31.58%White, 0.48%African American, 66.03%Native American, and 1.91% from two or more races.Hispanic orLatino of any race were 1.44% of the population.
There were 61 households, out of which 59.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.9% weremarried couples living together, 24.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.0% were non-families. 18.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.43 and the average family size was 3.86.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 46.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 12.9% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
