Pedasa (Ancient Greek:Πήδασα or τὰ Πήδασα), also known asPedasus orPedasos (Πήδασος),[1] and asPedasum,[2] was a town ofancient Caria. It was apolis (city-state) byc. 400 BCE.[3]Alexander the Great deprived the place of its independence by giving it over to theHalicarnassians, together with five other neighbouring towns.[2]
It was a member of theDelian League.[4]
Its site is near the modernGökçeler,Muğla province ofTurkey.[5][6]
