ThePaznaun (German:[pat͡sˈnaʊ̯n]ⓘ) is a valley inTyrol,Austria, leading south-west fromPians (856 m) to theBielerhöhe (2071 m), a mountain pass at the border ofVorarlberg andTyrol.
The Paznaun is watered by theTrisanna and surrounded by theCentral Eastern Alps, specifically, the mountain ranges ofVerwall in the north,Samnaun in the south-east andSilvretta in the south-west. The main villages in the Paznaun areSee (1050m), Kappl (1226m),Ischgl (1377m) andGaltür (1586m). Today, the main economic activity in the valley istourism, especiallywinter sports. Each of the main villages has its ownski resort with the resort of Ischgl being the most prominent one.
