Paul Di Giacomo (born 30 June 1982) is aScottishfootballer. He began his career atKilmarnock, before dropping into theScottish Football League First Division withAirdrie United to move closer to his partner at the time who had just had a boy named Thomas, thenRoss County. He also had loan spells from Kilmarnock withStirling Albion andPartick Thistle.

Career

As astriker who can also play on the wing,[1] Di Giacomo made hisKilmarnock debut in a 1–0 defeat ofSt Mirren in July 2000. He was loaned toStirling Albion for part of the2004–05 season. He again went out on loan in August 2007, this time toPartick Thistle. At Partick he scored twice; once againstBerwick Rangers in aChallenge Cup tie[2] and once against future clubGreenock Morton in the league.[3] He was released by theRugby Park side in June 2008[4] and a week later was snapped up byScottish First Division sideAirdrie United.[5] He moved toRoss County on 1 June 2009.[6]

Di Giacomo scored on his debut for Ross County against his old club Airdrie United in the opening game of the09/10 season.[7] He continued his good start to the opening season with a goal againstInverness Caledonian Thistle.[8]

He joinedGreenock Morton in June 2011,[9] and scored four goals on his debut againstStranraer in theChallenge Cup.[10] On 1 May 2012, Di Giacomo confirmed that he would leave the club at the end of the season to go part-time.[11] In July 2012, he signed for former clubAirdrie United.[12] His contract with Airdrie United was terminated by mutual consent in April 2013.

He retired from football in 2013 and is now the head of academy at Kilmarnock.
